Bloom Community Midwives -
Our Commitment to Our Environment

We strive to operate our midwifery practice with as minimal of an environmental impact as possible.

  • We exclusively use 100% organic cotton receiving blankets for baby check ups, instead of  disposable plastic pads
  • We provide hypoallergenic, chlorine-free diapers for visiting babies. Earth and baby friendly!
  • Instead of paper drapes, we provide our client's with linens during their check ups - you deserve to be comfortable too!
  • The energy from our electronics is offset by the Pembina Institute wind power programs
  • We only use premium, non-toxic, cleaning products
  • Our complimentary coffee and teas are all fair trade organic
  • We offer our clients paperless informational brochures
  • We are located in the heart of the community and within walking distance of St Paul's Hospital, a hospital where we have privileges
  •  Our flooring is made from recycled wood fiber
  •  Our kitchen waste is composted with Growing City
