I am honoured to be a part of the Team at Bloom and am so excited to a part of your care!
I am a Certifying Birth and Postpartum Doula with Doula Canada and have always had an interest and passion in birth and childcare. I grew up in the small town of Smithers, BC where I spent my adolescent years as competitive dancer and dance instructor. Growing up in Northern BC meant a lot of my time was also spent skiing, hiking and fishing. In 2011 I moved to Calgary and attended U of C where I obtained a degree in Sociology with a minor in Health Sciences.
While completing my undergraduate degree, I worked as a Postpartum Doula and Nanny for a family in Calgary. My experience working with this family was so much more than a job; I built strong relationships with their children and established the highest level of trust with the parents. Over those four years, I was a part of the birth experience for two of their three children. My involvement throughout those pregnancies and births ignited my passion to learn more about childbirth, as well as newborn care and development.
I love to travel and explore - so far I’ve travelled to over 20 countries throughout Asia, Europe, South America, Central America and North America. My last adventure had me trekking across South America for eight months. I feel so lucky to have visited so many incredible places in my lifetime.
I returned to Canada in April 2018 and moved to beautiful Vancouver where I began working as a community living counsellor for young adults with acquired brain injury and developmental disabilities. In July 2018 I enrolled with Doula Canada and began my certification towards becoming a Birth, Labour and Postpartum Doula. I could not be more excited to be a part of the team here at Bloom. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you throughout this incredible journey!
